On this page are a selection of pieces I have written for other companies, including online websites and publications.
'Christmas On A Budget' - for T'Hud Magazine '12
I contributed to the University of Huddersfield’s student magazine, and wrote an article about ‘student
budget’ friendly gift ideas: “Christmas On A Budget”. This article required me to go out in different shops and
boutiques to find perfect gift ideas for all members of the family. Along with researching, I had to take my
own photographs of products to go with the article.

Starting a blog has lead to many opportunities to network, write for companies and to really know what the
public want to read. Despite having a blog for just over two years, I have managed to gain over 350,000
blog views. Through blogging, I have learned that the public want to read reviews on products before pur-
chasing them. This includes snappy blog posts with a lot of photographs - which really grabs the attention
of the reader. My most popular blog posts include a ‘Maybelline Fit Me’ foundation review - and how well it
covers acne - and a hair dying tutorial using a certain product.
Through blogging, I have progressed onto creating YouTube videos. One of the reasons I started blogging was
because I hadn’t felt confident enough in front of the camera, however over the amount of blogging and uni-
versity experiences I have had over the past two and a half years. I have managed to gain confidence. Leading
me to create YouTube videos of reviews, hauls, and makeup tutorials. Creating YouTube videos allows me to
utilise my video editing skills, as I have gained a lot of knowledge of using experienced video editing software,
Final Cut Pro.

My first article published on the Studentcom website was a cheap, quick and easy Vampire makeup tutorial
for Halloween. I had originally posted this on my blog, along with a YouTube video showing how to create the
look, and Studentcom posted it onto their website.
NV Cosmetics:
During the summer of 2013, I was approached by Mags Yip, the Group Marketing Manager of a brand new
makeup collection called NV Cosmetics, asking me to attend their first event to test their products. I was
given three makeup items which I then reviewed later on my blog. NV Cosmetics are a company I will be
collaborating with again in the future to review even more of their products, once they have fully launched.
Being able to network with beauty companies allows me to expand my portfolio by writing reviews about
their products. It also gives me more opportunities to work with other companies who would like me to
review their items and share it with my readers.
